Handmade jewellery is made by an artist without the use of mass-manufacturing machines. There is no standard "look" for handmade jewelry. It can range from simple hand-assembled pendants and bracelets to intricate designs that take hours or days and skilled techniques to finish. What they all have in common though is that a jewelry artist makes each individual piece using only their hands and simple tools.

When you choose to purchase a piece of handmade jewelry, you're going to get a unique keepsake each time. There is almost always a little variation between each individual piece of the same style, due to the nature of handmaking anything. There may be slight imperfections - maybe a cut line isn't 100% straight - but there is also much more character to a piece of handmade jewelry. There's a story behind not only the design of the jewelry piece but the artist you're buying from.

Many consumers are moving towards a preference for handmade jewelry vs mass-produced jewelry.

We would loved to served you handmade gold jewellery as per your choice and requirements.

Guide to gold purity: 24k, 22k, and 18k differences

Online searches could also be confusing, especially when encountering words like ‘carat’ and ‘karat’. So, how do you know the best gold based on purity or colour? We have created this post just for that! In it, you’ll learn the different karats of gold, the various shades of gold, and how to measure the purity of gold using finesses.

24k gold

With a 99.99% purity, 24 karat gold is the purest form of gold there is. This gold has no traces of other metals or alloys. You can differentiate this gold from the different karats by its unique bright yellow colour.

The 24k gold is soft and easily pliable, mainly because of its lower density. Thus, it can’t be used to make jewellery. Instead, it is used to make gold bars and coins, and other medical and electronic devices.

22k gold

22k means that there are 22 out of 24 parts of gold in the metal. The remaining two parts are made of other alloys, making the gold harder and more durable than the 24k gold. As such, 22k gold is used to make regular jewellery and other ornaments.

However, the 22 karats aren't ideal for making heavy studded gold jewellery. This is because gold can barely hold the weight of gemstones like diamonds through daily use. As such, this form of gold is used to make jewellery that people wear occasionally.

18k gold

18 karat gold contains 18 parts of pure gold, and the rest are nickel, zinc, copper, silver, or other metals. In other words, 18k comprises 75% pure gold and 25% of other metals.

This form of gold is suitable for making diamond and studded jewellery – jewellery that you can wear daily. It has a yellow tone with a slight dull shade, making it appealing and desirable for making jewellery.

Is jewellery a good investment?

Gemstones, stones and beautiful pieces of jewellery have always been considered the most valuable pieces of wealth that one can have. The connection between jewellery and money has always been closely identified with one another; the two go hand in hand, with high value jewellery often being given away as gifts or the top prize in charity events.

For as long as we can remember, jewellery has been treated as a form of currency and investment. But when it comes to investing in these high value pieces, it’s important to have a certain amount of knowledge before you get started.

How to tell if your jewellery is antique

Jewellery Stamps

When checking out your potential new purchase, look for stamps on any metal pieces of jewellery such as 14k or 18k which denote purity levels in gold. Gold with markings like PLAT 950 is platinum so make sure they’re stamped correctly before buying! Also, be aware if there’s no stamp at all. The material may require professional experience to identify it.

Jewellery Markers

According to government guidelines, antique jewellery is a minimum of 100 years old.  This means that it is precious and pieces will often display impressive artistic workmanship. Before you drop your precious antique jewellery into the market, review some key values for various materials. The U.K.gold and silver bullion market, for example, is strong and prices fluctuate according to demand. Its value, however, is impacted by the value of the Pound and any supply shocks in the world of precious metals could drive prices down.

What is the most popular Antique Jewellery?

From symbols of commitment to the symbols of love, antique jewellery holds a charm that cannot be compared to contemporary jewellery. They are rare and precious -many are part of collections. With vintage jewellery often having a far greater price tag than contemporary jewellery, if you are not a jewellery connoisseur it can be difficult to know which items will be your best investment.

The link between royal protocol and jewellery

Stories are definitely told by royal families all around the world, many of whom own some of the most spectacular jewels in the world. History and tradition often play a role in the jewellery chosen for royal functions and events, as we’ve seen in the recent coverage of Prince Philip’s funeral. There is a long history of protocol when it comes to royal mourning dress, and the Queen and Duchess of Cambridge adhered to it by wearing colourless pearls and diamonds rather than more vivid jewels.

While many jewels are passed down unchanged for generations, there is also room for redesigning in some cases. Princess Diana had many beautiful sapphire pieces, and while it hasn’t been officially confirmed, many with an eye for jewellery have noticed that the Duchess of Cambridge possibly repurposed a pair of diamond and sapphire earrings into a pendant necklace, bringing new life to a meaningful piece.
